Projects
Office of Scaling-Up Nutrition (SUN) Somalia is a state institution housed in the office of the Prime Minister, Federal Government of Somalia, and is mandated to lead and strengthen collaborative governance, coordination and leadership of country nutrition efforts across multisectoral platforms.
Among major tasks includes providing development, review and adoption of national policies, legislation, and plans, roll-out of training and capacity building, strengthening multisectoral coordination, evidence-generation through research and studies, as well as monitoring, evaluation, and learning support for key nutrition activities and outcomes among others.
Despite some progress in strengthening capacity, efforts to alleviate malnutrition — whether under- or over-nutrition — are hampered by the country's lack of capacity in public health nutrition including technical and functional capacity.
In line with our five-year costed Common Results Framework, also known as the Costed Somalia Multisectoral Nutrition Strategy 2020–2024, the following are our 2021 AWP project details.
